Jurgen Klopp, who stepped down from Anfield in 2024, has suggested that returning someday is a possibility. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign featuring a European Cup triumph and the Reds’ first league title for three decades, now holds positions overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor for the DFL.

Supporters’ Hopes and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

The club claimed the league title in the previous campaign, though countless followers holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the possibility that he may eventually return. During an extensive chat, he explained to his interviewer: “I said I refuse to lead any other side in England. Therefore if then it’s Liverpool...absolutely. In theory, it could happen.”

“I’m 58, that means the choice could be mine down the line, it's uncertain. Is a decision required immediately? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, I don’t have to do that. I'll simply watch how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

Questioned regarding which situations would need to occur to tempt his return to the touchline, Klopp admitted he feels no immediate pull to such a return. “I'm not entirely sure, My present work fulfills me,” he commented. “No longing for management; No desire to be in the rain through long matches; I don’t miss going to media briefings multiple times weekly or constant media duties a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, but sitting in a restaurant with the players talking freely, that’s nice. We won a lot of games so there was often positive atmosphere at the club. I still have the captain's chuckle in my ear as an instance.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended for his successor, acknowledging his role for the adjustments that took the title last campaign. The team has suffered a string of losses across various tournaments after a summer spending spree, though he denied the suggestion it could be a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker in Flo[rian] Wirtz, doubters will be silenced with negative comments. An outstanding player. The French striker, excellent performer. They have a strong thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, they'll bounce back.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

He shared movingly about the death of the Portuguese star, a player he signed during his tenure, and its impact at the club. The Portugal international was killed in a vehicle collision with his brother in July.

“Who can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his on-field talent, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the dressing room absent his presence. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A profound tragedy for all the boys as well. No one within the club will ever use it as an excuse though it's a fact. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Handling this individually is difficult. Overwhelming.”
